The U.S. team did not participate in the first competition of the season today but will be in the mix for tomorrow’s Sprint Competition in Oestersund, Sweden.
Jeremy Teela (bib 34), Jay Hakkinen (bib 50), Bill Bowler (bib 94), Lanny Barnes (bib 37), Tracy Barnes (bib 54), Susan Dunklee (bib 83) and Annalies Cook (bib 90) will compete on the second day of IBU Cup 1. Here are the Men’s Start List and the Women’s Start List for tomorrow.
The first day of competition at IBU Cup 1 saw the favorites on the Men’s side struggle in challenging conditions, and strong performances from the French women’s team (Men’s Results, Women’s Results). There isn’t much snow in Oestersund, but enough to hold a competition. Perhaps the IBU should consider starting the season in Canada? No shortage of snow in Canmore or Whistler.
The Canadians will wait to make their season debut until next week at World Cup 1.
