Two Relays tomorrow at IBU World Cup 5 and IBU Cup 5

A busy holiday schedule prevented me from blogging about IBU World Cup 4 from Oberhof, but I am back and ready for IBU World Cup 5 from Ruhpolding, Germany and IBU Cup 5 from Ostrov, Russia.

IBU World Cup 5 kicks off with a Women’s Relay competition (start list) at 12:15 Eastern, 9:15 Pacific. Warm temperatures are expected, but hopefully the rain and fog that put a damper on the event in Oberhof will stay away. The U.S. team of Annalies Cook, Susan Dunklee, Sara Studebaker and Lanny Barnes are wearing bib 17, while Rosanna Crawford, Zina Kocher, Audrey Vaillancourt and Megan Heinicke of Canada are in bib 18. 22 nations in total are competing.

The IBU Cup is in Russia for the first time and Ostrov is the host city. The event begins tomorrow with a Mixed Relay competition (start list). Claude Godbout, Emma Lunder, Matthew Neumann and Vincent Blais are representing Canada in bib 5, while Hanah Dreissigacker, Katrina Howe, Bill Bowler and Jeremy Teela make up the US team in bib 14.
