More Problems for Russia as Tcherezov Out Indefinitely with Ankle Injury and the IBU website are reporting that top Russian biathlete Ivan Tcherezov suffered a serious ankle injury and will be out indefinitely. Tcherezov suffered the injury when he fell during the Russian Summer Biathlon Championships.

Tcherezov might be out the entire 2011/2012 biathlon season. With both Tcherezov and Maxim Tchoudov out, there is a big hole in Russia’s Men’s A team. A great deal of pressure will now fall on the shoulders of Evgeny Ustyugov, but it will also be up to the younger biathletes to step up their performance. This season will be a big test of the depth of Russian biathlon talent on the Men’s side.
