Two-time Olympian Megan Imrie was elected to the board of directors of Biathlon Canada at the June 7th annual general meeting. Elected along with Imrie were Colin Bell, Ken Davies and Donald Villeneuve.
After retiring in 2014, Imrie started studying pre-veterinary science at the University of Victoria. She will now bring a high-performance athletes’ perspective to the Biathlon Canada board.
In addition to the election of 4 new directors, the members of Biathlon Canada also approved some housekeeping amendments to the organization’s bylaws.
One of the first tasks of the board will be to find a replacement to High Performance Director Chris Lindsay, who has taken a job with Own the Podium in Ottawa. Biathlon Canada made this announcement on Chris’ departure in the week before the AGM: http://www.biathloncanada.ca/main.php?p=5517&lan=1
