Magdalena Neuner and Martin Fourcade Crowned Sprint Champs

Magdalena Neuner and Martin Fourcade won the Sprint Cup crystal globes in style, each winning the final Sprint competition of the season in Khanty-Mansiysk.

Neuner won an unbelievable 8 of 10 Sprint competitions this year. Her latest win came despite two penalties, as she managed a 3.2 second margin of victory over Vita Semerenko, who shot clean. Darya Domracheva was third, 16.2 seconds back with one penalty.

Zina Kocher (9th, +1:02.4, two penalties) and Susan Dunklee (10th, 1:03.1, one penalty) were in the top ten. Sara Studebaker was 37th (+2:30, two penalties) and Megan Imrie was 55th (+4:20.5, four penalties).

Fourcade also won narrowly, hitting all ten targets to stay 5.3 seconds ahead of Arnd Peiffer (one penalty) and 6.7 seconds ahead of Fredrick Lindstrom (no penalties).

Tim Burke posted his best result of the season with a fourth place finish (+23.4, one penalty). JP Le Guellec also hit the top ten with an 8th place finish (+35.4, one penalty). Jay Hakkinen was 19th (+1:06.3, one penalty), Lowell Bailey was 20th (+1:07.0, two penalties), Scott Perras was 41st (+1:48.9, three penalties) and Nathan Smith was 46th (+2:06.1, two penalties).
