The final competitions of the World Cup season were yesterday, with Darya Domracheva and Emil Hegle Svendsen taking the wins.
Domracheva earned the Mass Start crystal globe for her efforts in the Women’s Mass Start (IBU article, results), giving her two on the season after picking up the Pursuit crystal globe the day earlier. Tora Berger was in second (+10.0, one penalty) and Kaisa Mäkäräinen was third (+32.6, four penalties).
Zina Kocher finished the season in great form with another top ten finish (9th, +1:48.8, four penalties). Susan Dunklee was 28th (+4:09.1, seven penalties).
Svendsen won a windy Mass Start (IBU article, results), picking up only two penalties, crucially with only one in standing. Arnd Peiffer was second (+23.5, four penalties) and Anton Shipulin was third (+31.8, two penalties).
Andreas Birnbacher won the Mass Start crystal globe thanks to a fourth place finish.
Tim Burke was 22nd (+2:25.5, six penalties) and Lowell Bailey was 24th (+2:39.5, four penalties).
