Darya Domracheva Shoots Her Way to Victory in Women’s 15km Individual

Darya Domracheva won today’s 15km Individual, overcoming blustery conditions in Oestersund, Sweden.

Despite picking up one penalty in her first two shooting bouts, Domracheva shot clean the rest of the way and skied fast enough to cruise to a victory, 1:08.5 ahead of Anna Maria Nilsson. Magdalena Neuner came in third, who picked up two penalties in the final shooting stage (1:41.7, three penalties). Here is the IBU writeup and the complete results for the competition.

Zina Kocher was the top Canadian in 35th place (6:30.0, seven penalties), Megan Imrie was 41st (7:20.2, five penalties) Sara Studebaker was top American in 44th (7:30.7, five penalties), Susan Dunklee was 45th (7:31.9, seven penalties), Lanny Barnes was 48th (7:38.9, five penalties), Rosanna Crawford was 70th (10:24.3, seven penalties) and Laura Spector was 73rd (10:56.1, seven penalties).

Tomorrow is the Men’s Sprint, starting an hour earlier at 10:15 Eastern, 7:15 Pacific. Here is the start list.
