Bergman Thrills Home Crowd with Win; Personal Bests for Bailey and Green

Carl Johan Bergman won for the second time in his career today in the Sprint. Bergman shot clean and skied fast enough to hold off Tarjei Boe, who finished only 7.6 seconds back. Third place went to Emil Hegle Svendsen, who was 13 seconds back with one penalty.

The U.S. team had another great day, continuing their strong start to the season. Lowell Bailey finished in a personal best 5th place, after tying his previous personal best in Wednesday’s Individual competition. Tim Burke was 12th (+56.7, one penalty), and Brendan Green tied his personal best with a 14th place finish (+1:05.4, no penalties).

Jay Hakkinen was 39th (+2:00.8, one penalty), Scott Perras was 69th (+2:49.8, three penalties), Leif Nordgren was 79th (+3:12.1, three penalties), Scott Gow was 80th (3:12.5, one penalty) and JP Le Guellec was 86th (3:23.0, five penalties).
